Cathy was born into the McGowan Family in New York, along with 5 other siblings. Her Parents are Joan and Jim McGowan. When she was young she moved to California and for high school she attended Chaminade College Prepatory. From then on, she worked at a number of places including: Wendy's, and Nordstrom's, where she met her now husband Robert Leahy. She was at the time going out with a boy named Mike, who directed and produced a cable movie "Through Rose Colored Eyes", in which she starred. But she obviously liked Rob better!!! Then they got married in 1985. She then started work for Disney, and stayed for 20 years. And worked on a number of things including: Hercules and Emperor's New Groove. Now she is working at CSUN, and has two daughters Claire and Tara Leahy. She is currently working on treatments of sitcoms, and movies for her daughters.
